Final Propositions
I heard the words emotion and feeling thrown around a lot as I was searching for an explanation for the final project. A series of 6 photos that work together to achieve an emotion or feeling in the viewer....
So I got to thinking about what to do. I examined myself trying to figure out what I could do that would be interesting and fun for me to do. I also began to think about what I want to get across in these photographs.
Some easy ideas I thought about were images of people who are happy or sad. But that seemed like it would be pretty obvious.
Then it hit me...I kind of want people to feel uncomfortable or creeped out. I know that I want the focus to be a person that appears in all of the photographs. So I think I have decided to take my room mate, Twitty, who has several piercings, bright blue eyes, and red hair, and dress her in all black and dark makeup and maybe even spray her hair black and put her in locations or position her in ways that might just make you a little uncomfortable. A couple of ideas I have are putting her in a chair in the middle of a hallway, putting on a playground with kids, and buying something at a store.
So this is where I'm at right now. Going to take some pictures this weekend and get a move-on!!

Tete-a-tete...
This was probably my favorite project so far! I didn't realize how much I enjoyed taking photographs of people.

The first series are portraits of close friend, Angel. She wanted some simple photos taken that gave a little bit of insight into who she is. Knowing that she used to model, I wanted to take some stylized, magazine-like photos to capture a more surreal element. The one element that remains constant in her photos are her eyes; they really make the photograph!
The second series are photos of my roommate's 10 year old sister, Emily. I didn't really know Emily that well but I got to know her as I took these pictures. They were taken at the stable where her pony Chip is boarded. Thus, Chip became an important part of her portraits.
